1. Fresh Crawfish fly First Class on Southwest Airlines! Our crawfish will be farmed fresh from the ponds of lower Louisiana early Friday morning, May 20th, flown on Southwest Airlines under the watchful eye of their Cargo Customer Service Manager, Steve Langhart, and arrive Friday afternoon for our event on Saturday. Steve PROACTIVELY reached out to advise he would monitor our shipment from New Orleans to Houston, then Houston to LAX. That is First Class Customer Care from Southwest Airlines! Thanks Steve!
2. Speaking of flying First Class: You will have 2 ways to go airborne during the Crawfish Boil: HELICOPTER FLIGHTS and ZIP LINE! Du Bois Aviation(www.duboisaviation.com) and LA Party Works (www.partyworksinteractive.com) are sponsoring our event in a BIG way!
As a result of Lou DuBois’ generous contribution, we are able to raffle off a single flight to a lucky raffle ticket winner while also providing helicopter flights for FLY-IT-NOWticket holders. Lou has been a huge supporter since our first crawfish boil. Everyone that has flown in his helicopter loves the flight! Thanks to Lou for bringing it back this year! FLY-IT-NOW tickets are $45. Raffle tickets are $5/ticket or $25/wingspan. Stop by their booth to learn more about Du Bois Aviation training programs at Chino Airport!
New this year is a ZIP LINE ride available for all entry ticket holders to ride! Thanks to Eric Elkaim of LA Partyworks you can ride their ZIPLINE at no additional cost (must have purchased an entry ticket)! Harness up at the event and show your best swan or pelican form as you zip over the Crawfish Boil! If you watch MTV, Nickelodeon, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen, been to LA Live, Long Beach Grand Prix, or attended an incredible corporate event…chances are you have seen LA Partyworks in action. In addition to theZIPLINE, they are also bringing out their CLIMBING WALL. Thanks Eric for your support!
3. North County SWAT team will be hosting a private live-fire exercise with our auction winners in the morning. Crawfish boil attendees can observe from a short distance. SWAT team will then join us for lunch and will hold a live-fire demonstration for the Crawfish Boil attendees early afternoon. Don’t miss this incredible event! 4. Turner’s Outdoorsman is sponsoring our CRPA Cajun Cup Shooting Competition. Teams of 3 will be provided firearms, 33 rounds of ammo and 30 metal knock-down targets. The team will have 10 seconds to shoot down as many targets as possible. The winning team will have the least amount of targets standing. Entry for this competition is $45 for a team of 3. Up to 2 re-takes can be attempted at $20/team/retake. Turner’s Gift Cards and medals will be given to the winning team.
5. But Wait! There’s more from Turner’s! Turner’s donated a Smith and Wesson MP15 Sport II Rifle (Value $700) to raffle for our fundraising cause! Raffle tickets are being sold for $20/ticket or $75/wingspan. The firearm will be raffled off after a minimum of $1000 is raised. If the goal is not met by 3pm on the day of the crawfish boil, we will continue selling raffle tickets after the event until we hit the minimum goal. Need not be present to win. 6. This year’s event will host 2 cooking competitions: a Chili Cook-off and a BBQ Cook-off. See overall guidelines at www.crawfishboil.us under the Cooking Competition tab. More detailed rules will be posted on-line soon. Sign up now online and pay fee of $35 to secure your space (if you are hosting a company picnic, your fee is included in the combo pack). Everyone can participate in sampling the chili and BBQ and casting your vote for People’s Choice!
7. Speaking of food, did we mention Shrimp PoBoys? Shrimp PoBoys are added to the hot-plate lunch menu! Get your PoBoy sandwiches with lettuce/tomato and an awesome sauce/spread. We will toss in a few boiled crawfish as lagniappe!! See updated menu and order today to get your PoBoy sandwich! Enjoy!
8. Get in with a low-cost entry ticket and enjoy the entire day for $15! The Basic Entry ticket allows entry to the event, includes a 2016 Crawfish Boil T-shirt, a raffle ticket for the helicopter ride drawing, access to many fun activities including the Zipline, Rock Wall climbing, Mechanical Bull, horse rides and a Chick-fil-a sandwich for lunch. This is perfect for those who do not want cajun hot plate lunches or crawfish. For those who do want hot plate lunches or crawfish, they can get the Hot-Plate Entry package with a hot plate lunch for as low as $25.
9. Combo packs: New this year is Family/Friends discount combos pricing for 2 or 3 people. We are also offering turn-key Company Picnic combos for 20 guests. Scout Troops get a discount for weekend camping and attendance if they volunteer to serve and help out at the event. See order information online.
10. Shoot some history! Eric Johnson will be bringing his collection of WWI, WWII, Korean War and Vietnam era rifles to the range. Hi Caliber ticket holders can turn in their ticket to shoot 3 of his rifles. Ammo limited to 4 shots per rifle. Experience the rugged rifles used in these 4 military conflicts.
11. Face Painting! The Sante Fe Springs High School Drama Club will host a face-painting booth; designs are custom to your request or just close your eyes and ask for a surprise! Face painting is free. Donations to the Drama Club are appreciated.
